So, some might have noticed that I did not keep to my challenge, starting on the first day! Smh! I know, I’m working on it! But, it does help to have a little pressure/friendly  reminder (ahem… not pointing anyone out or anything… READERS… lol)!

In any regard, I have to make up for yesterday’s blunder by posting four poems today! Look at me! Getting all poetry buck wild, with my bad self! Haha!

Anyway, without much ado, here is a poem inspired by yesterday’s Day 22 prompt on the NaPoWriMo website.

Day 22 Prompt:

“Today is Earth Day. The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970 and is now celebrated internationally. In honor of the occasion, I challenge you to write a poem in keeping with Earth Day — it could be a reflection on what’s growing in your garden, a modern pastoral, or a Marianne-Moore-style poem about an animal. Anything to do with the natural world is fair game. Happy writing!”

 Mother Earth’s Seas

Cool, clear bright days

Powered by beautiful waves

Sunny caves

And sandy stays

What a wonderful world

It truly is

Smiles invented from remote beaches

Love cultured by the blackened blue of the starriest nights

Peace infused through the aesthetic healing of the mountainside

Universal joy and happiness embedded in the woody footsteps of forest delight

Swing by

Come hang in the trees

Blow in the breeze

Laugh & smile

Energized by nature’s glee

Sailing, infinitely and endlessly

On the wavelength of Mother Earth’s seas
