Happy Friday everyone!! It’s also the 10th day of National Poetry Writing Month!! So, we have a lot to celebrate on this beautiful Friday!! For starters, we have life. We also have love (for those of you who wonder, where from, don’t forget how much I love you <3). Best of all, we have each other (even if just through a computer screen).

Annnndddddd we also have, POETRY!! Outside of a glass of wine, cheese and a spliff, life couldn’t be much better, right? Haha! J/k. There’s of course so much more to life than love, good company, wine, cheese, herb and poetry, I suppose. Haha!

Anywho, I’d like to kick off this Friday the right way, with a poem about love! In fact, it’s a special love poem. A haiku, to be exact. Just a FYI, a haiku is a Japanese poem, with a special format of 17 syllables, broken into a 5-7-5 format. There are three stanzas in the poem, the first being 5 syllables, the second being 7 syllables and the third also being 5 syllables.

This haiku is inspired by new love. New hope. New days. New lives. New me. New everything. Love is all about evolution. Unconditional love requires for the ability to accept and internalize change. People change. Life changes. Things change. Love, in its most pure essence, is a perfect reflection of such change. Love bends, binds, folds, flips, flies and fills. It is the most resilient aspect of life, as we know it.

This haiku is a reflection, in my own words, of pure, perfect, resilient love. A’se!

Love (A Haiku)

Simply you. Plus me.

Two beauties infused by love.

To-Get-Her. To be!
